Skunk Cleaner Shrimp

Skunk or Candy Stripe Cleaner Shrimp (Lysmata amboinensis),is a popular marine crustacean known for its symbiotic cleaning behavior, where it removes parasites and dead tissue from larger fish, including moray eels and groupers, in exchange for food. It is easily identified by its bright red and white stripes, yellow body, and long white antennae, and it establishes "cleaning stations" on coral reefs where fish visit for service. These shrimp are hermaphroditic, omnivorous scavengers, and are popular in the aquarium trade for their vibrant colors and beneficial cleaning services.
