ROTIFERS

The Brachionus plicatilis (L-type) species is euryhaline, capable of thriving in salinities of 5-40 ppt.

Live Brachionus roundiformis provide an excellent food source for coral and fish fry. These rotifers are zooplanktons that have been fed with our custom enriched microalgae Phyto Buffet. Given their size (90-150µm), B. roundiformis have been successfully used in larval culture of newly hatched fresh water and marine fish.  We have used these to successfully raise clown fish.  we also use them to feed a variety of corals and other invertebrates. SPS coral, crinoids and clams benefit greatly from the addition of enriched rotifers to a dosing/feeding routine.

We culture in sterilized saltwater at a specific gravity of 1.013 and shipped with a small addition of phytoplankton. Rotifers can safely be added to your saltwater reef tank, larvae/fry tank or can be strained through a coffee filter to use for (feed) Freshwater larvae/fry.  Rotifers can remain dormant for up to 3 weeks in the refrigerator with access to air. Be sure to store with the cap open.
