Scarlet Red Leg Hermit

Scarlet Red Leg Hermit Crabs are very well known for controlling various types of algae including hair algae and are considered to be reef.  Scarlet Red Legs in the wild feed upon many types of algae and do a wonderful job within a reef tank consuming algae as well as leftovers. Considered reef safe as they will not harm corals, they have been known to pick at snails and other hermit crabs so caution should be exercised with some snails and other hermit crabs. Providing open shells may help eliminate this issue.
